9/12/09: Frank's first Notre Dame and Michigan Game all at once!
Through a series of babysitting misadventures, Trish couldn't go to the Notre Dame Michigan game, so Frank and I went instead. He was very good (except for him high-fiving his Uncle Tom and cousin Kelly every time Michigan scored or had a good play - that I can't stomach!)
The Prime Minister has released a statement on the Second World War code-breaker, Alan Turing, recognising the 'appalling' way he was treated for being gay. Alan Turing, a mathematician most famous for his work on breaking the German Enigma codes, was convicted of 'gross indecency' in 1952 and sentenced to chemical castration.
Turing did a ton of mathematical brilliance which helped win WWII, and set the foundation for the modern computer. Without him, we'd be speaking German, and have no internet. And yet, when he was outed as gay, was convicted of a crime and sentenced to chemical castration. Horrible way to treat a hero.
