1/09/10: Frank Loves Grave Digger
(download)

Frank has been watching a crazy amount of Monster Jam (http://www.monsterjamonline.com/home) on the Speed Channel.  If you're wondering who his favorite is, wonder no more.  He's a Grave Digger fanatic!

This will break your heart

Frank is totally fine. He had a weird infection in his leg (like
having a cold in your leg) which made him limp all weekend. He had a
precautionary xray today which looks damned sad when you see it.

36 Skaters Make Downhill Neon Video Game w/ Freebords

This is totally awesome. A bunch of guys on skateboards recreate Tetris on a hill with LED lights on their heads.

9/12/09: Frank's first Notre Dame and Michigan Game all at once!

Through a series of babysitting misadventures, Trish couldn't go to the Notre Dame Michigan game, so Frank and I went instead. He was very good (except for him high-fiving his Uncle Tom and cousin Kelly every time Michigan scored or had a good play - that I can't stomach!)

It's about time: Prime Minister of UK: Treatment of (gay) genius mathematician Alan Turing "appalling"

UK: Treatment of (gay) genius mathematician Alan Turing "appalling"

At long last:
alanTuring.jpgThe Prime Minister has released a statement on the Second World War code-breaker, Alan Turing, recognising the 'appalling' way he was treated for being gay. Alan Turing, a mathematician most famous for his work on breaking the German Enigma codes, was convicted of 'gross indecency' in 1952 and sentenced to chemical castration.

Treatment of Alan Turing was "appalling" - PM (number10.gov.uk)

Turing did a ton of mathematical brilliance which helped win WWII, and set the foundation for the modern computer. Without him, we'd be speaking German, and have no internet. And yet, when he was outed as gay, was convicted of a crime and sentenced to chemical castration. Horrible way to treat a hero.
